We toured a beautiful monastery, monks walking around and all!

After the tour, we went on a 25 mile bike ride. One of the neatest things I have ever done. It was rainy and cold, but the beauty was unsurpassed. Peddling through the canyon next to the Danube, we passed through sporadic tiny towns with flower boxes under the windows, and vineyards in that were patterned in all different directions, climbing up the hills. Here is a video that my roommate Karly made from the bike ride!
That night a few of us left for Freiberg, Germany with some Austrian locals.

We spent Thursday and Friday morning in the temple. It was a very neat experience doing ordinances in another language!

We went to Dresden, a city that was destroyed by bombs in WWII.

The buildings remind me of Dalmatians. There are old brick skeletons that survived the bombings which are covered with black, and then the rest is filled in with new white brick.

The last night we had a dance!
I became buddies with one of the kids from the group that is a little slow, then on Sunday he brought me these flowers!
I loved the houses there!!!Last week we went to Venice! We spent our time wandering through museums, islands, hanging out at the beach, eating tons of pizza (the only affordable thing to eat there) and gelato, shopping, and wandering through the city. My birthday was incredibly fun, except for the part that a kid in my group dropped and broke my camera!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so very sad, especially because now i will just have to steal pictures from the others :( :( :( :( The rest of Venice pictures coming soon, I need to begin the steeling of pictures for the second half of the trip...

Taryn! Hi! I am so glad you finally posted more pictures of you! I check your blog all the time and wait for new picture so that i can see what fun adventures you've gone on! And HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY! Hope your doing well and being safe! Love Car
I, too, check your blog and wait for more pictures. I love that you're taking random pictures of houses and interesting parts of houses. That is the way to capture the real feeling of what you're seeing--it sounds so fun. Keep it up!
Taryn, I got your response on your blog!!! yea! I love seeing all you are doing! What a great example you are to your siblings. Hopefully they will be motivated to go out and see the world! You are going places I haven't even been!! I would love to see Budhapest; I hear it is so beautiful. Borrow lots of pics to put in your blog. Oh, and hello roomate! That video is awesome!
This is the time girl! You are young and free! See as much as you can before you settle down and don't have these opportunities again. I was so happy to see you eating gelato. MMMMM, I love gelato. Try and find chocolate dipped gelato. So yummy.
Most of all, I just love seeing the smile on your face. I have wanted this for you for soooo long and nothing makes me more happy than seeing you so happy.
Love you much!
ps. No, I don't have a blog...our life is too much on display as it is. lol. :)
pps. the twins were born-Luke and Max. So cute!
Barb! I hope that you know that your influence was the biggest reason why i decided to go on a study abroad. I love you to death!k, i have two questions for you. 1. I have one week off in July to go to Rome/Greece, Paris, or Barcelona.. I really need your opinion, i can not decide! question #2. If i remember correctly you and steve are friends with Bon Jovi.. He is coming to vienna the beginning of July, if there is any way that steve could do something, it would be incredible! If this is any trouble at all though, do not worry about it! Thank you so much for telling me about Stacy, that is so exciting!!!
Carly I am so excited that i can go to your wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sorry that i dont update it more, i hardly have any time.. I hope everything is going well and that the planning is not too crazy!
taryn i LOVE everyone of your pictures!!! so many comments i dont know how to begin! neat houses, cute flowers, sound of music, on and on! you look so happy and like you are having the time of your life. good for you!
ohh and congratualations on your engagement! :)
Taryn, shoot I just saw your post. Now that I feel a little better I have been so busy!! Okay, I should probably find you to get going on the Bon Jovi concert. ummmmm, I will track down how to reach you. On the other question-gosh, Spain is awesome (you know it is my favorite and needs more than a week), but if you only have a week, go to Greece. Athens is one of the dirtiest cities in the world, but the ruins are great. Go there only one day and then rush off to one of the Islands. I did a photo shoot on Santorini and fell in love with it! It is gorgeous! If you are looking for fun and action, Mykonos is supposed to be great, but I haven't been there to tell you. I have heard crazy fun rumors about a youth hostel in Corfu called the Pink Palace. When I lived in Europe, everyone raved about it. They have toga parties, kayak tours, quad riding. It is famous, but my warning is that it will be like a 24 hour fraternity party. Might be fun just to experience it once, but maybe too wild for your group? I am curious and would love to know if you go!
Thank you for your sweet words back to me. I love you to death too!
I will try to call ya!
